The office is also involved in searching for consultancy avenues in industry for mutual benefits.

Over the years, staff of UMaT have been involved in consultancy and other support services assignments with several industries including capacity building of mine workers, aspects of the mining enterprise, environmental impact assessments, socio-economic, health and safety impact assessments, development of compensation and resettlement action plans and packages to mine decommissioning and restoration.
