ORIC EMBARKS ON MARKETING DRIVE OF UMaT INNOVATIONS

As part of marketing innovations, expertise and resources of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), the Office of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (ORIC) has initiated series of media engagements to throw more light on these innovations and resources to attract investors for start-ups and also companies wishing to tap into the expertise of Staff and Laboratory Resources.

The media engagement is designed to promote innovations, explore opportunities (funding and upscaling) for innovations, advertise UMaT Expertise and Resources, enhance UMaT Brand as well as establish strong academic presence to increase student enrolment.

The maiden edition of the media engagement took place in Accra on 23rd March 2022 on the topic: Tackling the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics/Innovation. Mr. Samuel Otopeh, an alumnus of UMaT and the designer of an improved version of palm oil extraction machine was interviewed by Mr Francis Abban of STARR FM on the station’s Morning Starr to deep dive into his innovation.  He was accompanied by Mr Michael Bremfi, the Business Development Manager at ORIC.
