Jonathan Sakoe is the Finance Officer of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa. He holds a Master in Business Administration, Finance option from Wisconsin International University College and a Bachelor in Education from University of Cape Coast. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA).
His experience in Finance spans from Preparation and implementation of the annual budgets, Performing effective treasury management, Managing finances of the University, Preparation of annual financial statements, Assisting Management in commenting on Status of Implementation of Audit Reports by the Audit Committee, Ensure proper record keeping of all University assets, stocks in a register, Performing other functions on behalf of the University as the need arises.
His area of interest includes ; Risk Management, Microfinance, Auditing and Control systems, Financial Reporting.
Prior to joining UMaT, Mr Sakoe worked with the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale as a Junior Assistant Accountant & Head, Final Accounts Section, Assistant Accountant & Head of Budget Section and an Accountant & Head of Accounts Section UDS Medical School.
Mr Sakoe assists the Office of Research, Innovation and Consultancy with budget development and other financial requirements for research and consultancy proposals and the financial management of the resultant projects. He can be reached at jsakoe@umat.edu.gh
