Eric A V Kavaarpuo obtained his MSc Development Policy and Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and BA Political Science with Linguistics, from the University of Ghana, Legon. Eric’s professional training includes Organisation Development, Project Management and Public Health.
In the UMaT Office of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (ORIC), Eric is currently engaged in bidding for consultancies and research grants, communicating research output and commercializing research findings.
Before taking up the UMaT appointment in 2018, Eric worked as a development management specialist, social development researcher and consultant for local and international organisations spanning over 15 years. His last assignment was with Oxfam in Ghana where he coordinated an Education Advocacy Project, Enhancing Structured Dialogue between Civil Society Organisations and Policy makers on the Right to Quality Education for All in Africa in six African countries (Mozambique, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone), with a focus on ensuring structured policy dialogue to address education gaps and domestic financing of education in Africa to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He strengthened competencies of Civil Society Groups and networks in research and social accountability tools for evidence gathering to enrich their advocacy work.
